Towards a Decoupling between Economic Expansion and Carbon Dioxide Emissions of the Transport Sector in the Yellow River Basin

Realizing the decoupling development between economic expansion and carbon dioxide emissions of transport sector is great importance if Yellow River basin to achieve green low-carbon development. In this paper, we adopt Tapio index examine relationship within in basin, then introduce standard deviational ellipse dynamically analyze spatial heterogeneity growth at provincial level. Furthermore, based on method, expand traditional logarithmic mean Divisia decomposition (LMDI) model decompose into eight sub-indices, identify impact each factor relationship. The results indicate that show non-equilibrium characteristics “upstream region < midstream downstream region”. state shows obvious differences. less-developed regions are more likely present non-ideal states. rate Sichuan, Qinghai, Shandong provinces relatively fast, azimuth sector’s a clockwise trend. Moreover, inhibitory effects urbanization much greater than non-urbanization factors. addition effect urbanization, structure has major negative upstream regions, while energy intensity key realizing decoupled status region. Finally, propose some differentiated policy recommendations.
